Whether you plan to train with me for the rest of your life or just want to invest in 3 months to put some fitness tools in your tool belt, I aim to impart to clients the joy of meaningful movement, the rewards of stepping outside of one’s comfort zone and how to do it in a safe and effective way.

My Clients

I work with a wide variety of clients from marathon runners, actors, community activists, new moms to artists — just to name a sliver of the diversity. My clients come to me with different goals, different bodies, different abilities and different health histories and I create programs customized to their individual needs. The commonality of these diverse programs is that I’m driven by a philosophy that workouts should be safe, playful, and educational. Science repeatedly reminds us that what’s physically and mentally challenged will adapt, and what’s not won’t. Are you up for the adventure?

My Expertise

I received my certification in personal training through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and my degree from Columbia University. I’ve been training Capoeira since I was 19 years old and standing on my hands any which way possible (pretty much how I am happiest) since. My cross-cultural upbringing in rural Liberia, urban Kenya, and upstate New York, and diverse athletic training inspire my dynamic and holistic programs, which are as challenging as they are creative, while emphasizing the connection between strength and active mobility.

My specialties are strength and conditioning, mobility, acrobatics, injury prevention and rehabilitation, pre/post natal training & Capoeira Angola. Modalities that I’m certified in and utilize are Functional Range Conditioning, TRX Suspension Training, Kettlebell Training and TRX Rip Training.

My exposure to diverse cultures, communities, ages and abilities here in New York and around the world, have profoundly shaped my belief in the value and beauty of every unique human body, regardless of athletic ability and appearance. Feeling stronger, moving better, and reducing and/or eliminating pain are the most empowering actions we can take for ourselves.
